The Rugiero Promise Foundation welcomed supporters to the 13th annual Casino Royale fundraiser in October 2023. The event brought together sponsors, donors, volunteers and community leaders for an evening dedicated to advancing diabetes research at Michigan Medicine.
DBusiness captured the celebration through an event feature and photo gallery showcasing many of the people and organizations that helped make the evening possible. The event combined casino-style gaming, dining, entertainment, raffles and auctions with an opportunity for attendees to support an important cause.
Behind the celebration was a personal mission. Casino Royale was created in memory of Antonio Rugiero Sr., whose life and generosity continue to inspire the Foundation’s work. By transforming the Rugiero family’s experience with diabetes into action, the event has helped build a growing community committed to supporting research and bringing hope to other families affected by the disease.
Each Casino Royale represents months of work from a volunteer-led team and generous support from local businesses. The 2023 event continued that tradition, demonstrating how a community can come together to celebrate, remember and create a meaningful impact.
