About Us

In 2011, Anthony Rugiero established the Rugiero Promise Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer only organization. “I made a vow that in gratitude for all of God’s blessings, our family would never stop working to help those less fortunate,” he said.

Since its inception, the foundation has grown, making important contributions to many diverse charities. The foundation is proud support these organizations Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Gleaner’s Community Food Bank, ILICA, Boys’ & Girls’ Towns of Italy, The Garden Party, Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museum, The National Kidney Foundation, and Beaumont/Oakwood Foundation.

The University of Michigan’s Diabetes Research Center calls the Rugiero Promise Foundation’s signature event, Rugiero Casino Royale, a significant resource for funding contributions benefiting diabetes research. The event honors Antonio Rugiero Sr. and will be held this year in Dearborn. It is the foundation’s mission to make this event the hallmark in finding a cure for diabetes.

To educate and empower children 21 years or younger diagnosed with all forms of cancer by increasing self-esteem and giving children the opportunity to have fun experiences and be better able to cope with cancer.

Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation

The largest nonprofit in the world focused on accelerating the cure for multiple myeloma. Our work is not done until each and every multiple myeloma patient has the answers they need.

Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

Ranked as one of the nation’s top inpatient rehabilitation facilities and the #1 Physical Rehab Center in Michigan, on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehab Centers 2021.

Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute

Capuchin Soup Kitchen

Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, we tend to people’s basic needs, especially the need for food. We also strive to stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and address root causes of social injustice.

Gleaner’s Community Food Bank

We exist to provide households with access to sufficient, nutritious food, and related resources. We accomplish this through collaboration, efficient operations, education, and innovative solutions to achieve a hunger-free community in southeast Michigan.

Italian Language Inter-Cultural Alliance (ILICA)

Dedicated to promoting the Italian language as a tool for understanding and studying a constantly evolving culture.

Boys’ & Girls’ Towns of Italy (La Città dei Ragazzi)

Founded to provide, in Monsignor’s words, “a chance in life” to vulnerable and orphaned children. Providing children the responsibility of running their own Town through the model of self-government.

The Garden Party Foundation

To provide professional trade scholarships to underprivileged young adults. TGPF believes that the purpose of education is to teach students skills allowing them the opportunity to create their own self-sustainable life.

Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museum

One of 25 chapters worldwide that form the International Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. The Patrons’ mission is to raise funds to maintain and restore the vast collection of art housed in the Vatican Museums.

The National Kidney Foundation
